Interactive Folk Art Upcycling Workshop

Warli & Madhubani Edition

Skip the standard gallery viewing. We invite you to step directly into the canvas. In this session, we dive into the history, philosophy, and foundational techniques of two iconic regional folk art styles from India: the minimalist, nature-centered geometry of Warli and the dense, vibrant, mythological line work of Madhubani.

This session is rooted entirely in upcycling. We ask our community to actively resist buying new materials. Bring an old item from your home that needs a new soul—an old shirt, a faded tote bag, bare terracotta pots, or a piece of wood. Alternatively, you can dive into our curated bank of textile and material scraps collected across the Netherlands. Let's create something meaningful together.
